A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the tennis teams to help buy a tennis ball machine. Please come out, enjoy some dinner, and help support the WFHS tennis players! Thank you!
Coaches distributed baggies of raffle tickets to spring athletes yesterday to continue to help raise funds for the WFHS athletic programs. Raffle tickets are for a 2-burner Charbroil gas grill, valued at $140, which was generously donated by B&W Hardware in downtown Wake Forest!
Tickets are 1 for $1, 6 for $5, 15 for $10. Winner will be announced at the spring sports banquet on May 22nd. You do not have to be present to win.
If you haven't already purchased from a spring athlete, you can still purchase raffle tickets at the Wake Forest Meet in the Street on May 3rd as the Athletic Booster Club will be there selling apparel and raffle tickets!
Thank you for your support of our WFHS athletic programs!
The WFHS Athletic Booster Club and our student athletes need your help for the 2014-15 school year! The ABC is actively seeking nominations for its Executive Board positions (especially President) and for most of its Committee Coordinator positions. The strength of the athletic programs at our school are largely dependent on the commitment of parents to get involved and volunteer their time! Many committees have minimal time commitments. While we are looking for leadership, we appreciate and need all help, so let us know if you can volunteer on a certain committee as a worker.

Funds to enrich and support our WFHS Cougar Athletic program are critically low! WE WOULD LIKE TO RAISE $20,000 by APRIL 30, 2014.
Did you know WCPSS allots just $900 per year to each high school’s athletic program?
Yet it costs approximately $158,000 per year to run our high school athletic program!
WFHS has 32 teams and over 300 student athletes.
Even though our high school was required to change its name in 2013, WFHS received no extra allotment from WCPSS for new uniforms. This expense alone exceeded $20,000 in 2013-14.
With the opening of Heritage High in 2010 and Rolesville High in 2013, there is now more competition for local corporate sponsorship money.
In order to have athletic teams at WFHS, WE MUST RAISE THIS MONEY THROUGH GATE RECEIPTS AND BOOSTER CLUB FUNDRAISERS.
Gate receipts at WFHS account for approximately $78,000 per year, leaving an $80,000 budget shortfall to be raised through Booster Club fundraisers.
The WFHS Athletic Booster Club pays for things like:
Uniforms and Helmets
Equipment like balls, goals, chalk for lines
Seasonal Banquets for Athletes
Special Plaques and Posters for our Senior Athletes
Scholarships for Graduating Seniors
PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION TO THE WFHS ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB NOW!
(WFHS ABC is a 501c3 organization. Receipts available, if desired.)
Donations may be dropped off in the main office. They can also be mailed to WFHS ABC, P.O. Box 285, Wake Forest, NC 27588. We will keep you updated via the ABC website as to how much money is raised! Thank you so much!!
